It is important that your features and amenities are set up properly in the Felix PMS. Please note we also have a video demonstrating these procedures as well which you can find here.
For instance, if you don't have the correct beds listed, then your maximum occupancy won't be accepted by the channels.
Also, you want everyone, wherever they're booking, to know that you provide free wifi, or linen and towels, or if you've got an amazing view.
Features and amenities are actually found in two locations in Felix, under the property and the room. This is because the system is setup to manage both vacation rentals and hotels (as well as hostels, caravan parks and much more). With hotels, you want to be able to state the features and amenities of your general areas, as well as those inside the room itself.
It doesn't matter which area you set these up in, but please note the following:
- Your pet settings need to be set up in the Properties section, otherwise they won't push across to booking.com
- If you list your beds and bathrooms in both areas, these will be added together for Airbnb and HomeAway, therefore doubling the size of your property - you don't want that.
It is important therefore that you pick one area to fill in these details. The locations in the Felix PMS are below:
Properties:
Settings > Properties > Description - in the first section titled 'Property Information' scroll down to 'Features'.
Rooms:
Settings > Properties > Rooms > Setup - in the second section titled 'Booking Engine and Descriptions' scroll down to 'Features' at the bottom.
Once you click on the 'Edit' button next to 'Features' on either page, the features screen will popup. You will see at the top there are 3 sections - Amenities, Bedrooms and Bathrooms. Start in the Amenities section, working your way down the page ticking all the amenities that the property has.
Then go the Bedrooms section. You need to select the first sleeping area in the first box. You can select 'Bedroom', 'Bedroom Ensuite', 'Living and Sleeping Area' or 'Other Sleeping Area'. Select bedroom for the master bedroom for the property and choose the bedding in that room. Do the same for further bedrooms. Once you have completed 3 bedrooms, if you need to add another bedroom, you just need to press save, then 'Edit' again, open up the bedrooms tab and there will be another room available. In the screenshot below, this is a 2 bedroom property with a queen bed in the master bedroom, and 2 single beds plus a floor mattress (used for extra guests for an extra fee, eg. a 3rd child in a family of 5) in the second bedroom.
The final section is the bathrooms tab which works in the same manner as the bedrooms. You can add full bathrooms and half bathrooms, and state the amenities in each bathroom. Again, if you run out of bathrooms, simply save and then press the edit button again to add a further bathroom.
Remember to always press Save when you have finished updating your features and amenities, otherwise all your hard work will be lost!
