Once you have paid out owners at the end of the month you need to add payments to your business to the ABA file before downloading it and paying it at the bank (you may also need to do this mid-month if you have disbursed bookings and need to send yourself cleaning fees or management fees to cover business expenses).
To pay out your fees, go to Trust Account > Payments.
Click on the second from the left of the 4 green buttons to open your holding accounts.
1. Select the first relevant holding account you need to pay out to yourself, eg. 'Management Fees'.
2. Enter ABA EFT as the Payment Type.
3. Click on the green Add Payment button
4. Enter the same date as your owner payouts
5. Click on the suitcase icon to open up your business bank account details and edit the Purpose and ABA Lodgement Reference to the same name as the holding account, eg. 'Management Fees'.
6. Enter the balance of the holding account in the amount section (unless you want to leave some funds in the holding account)
7. Click on the Save Payment button to add the payout to the ABA file.
8. Repeat for each Holding Account you require to be paid out for.
Now you need to download the ABA file to load into Internet Banking.
Go to Trust Account > ABA Payment System.
1. Click on your bank logo in the middle of the screen to select your trust account.
2. Click on Next or the '2. Current ABA Payment List' button.
3. Click on the Print ABA Payments Report button at the bottom of the screen and download to your computer/the cloud for future reference.
4. Click on the 'Next' button or '3. Download Current ABA File'
5. Enter today's date and then click on the 'Close off and download the current ABA file' button
6. Click yes to close off the file and yes again to download the file
7. Load on internet banking
